Volunteering
Give time, skills and energy to Hilbre
Volunteering can include practical task days, Open Day support, administration, photography, archiving, education and specialist help.
Practical task days
Working safely on a tidal island
For insurance purposes, practical task-day volunteers must be Friends of Hilbre members and at least 18 years old. Requirements for other volunteering roles may differ.
First-time volunteers should contact the team in advance and introduce themselves to the task leader at the agreed meeting point. Keep to the stated meeting and departure times.
Bring enough water and food, warm waterproof clothing, gardening gloves and suitable footwear. The task leader will explain whether tools or experience are required for the work planned.
More ways to help
Not every role is physically demanding
The charity can also benefit from event stewarding, content editing, photography, cataloguing, fundraising, community outreach and professional advice.
